Our coffee plantation is at an elevation of 1850m which is toward the upper end of the growing range for coffee. We grow Geisha, Tipica and Cataui varieties and currently have 5000 trees under cultivation. All our coffee is shade grown and bird friendly, the dominant shade tree is a native Inga sp., a nitrogen fixing legume tree. Our first harvest was in 2015 and we reached almost 200 pounds dried weight which will supply our restaurant for this year. In 2016 we hope to offer to guests some of our coffee for sale as well as to export to Tricera Cafe in Charleston, S.C. a specialty roaster and famiy member.
